The New “Green” in Data Center Technology
Data traffic multiplying daily is requiring more from data centers and consequently more from the power grid; the industry is challenged to produce even more power, in an energy-efficient manner. Jack McCall, Managing Director of Superconducting Cables at AMSC, and green collocation model industry expert, Peter Feldman, will discuss technology innovations including advancements in cogeneration and new low voltage direct current (LVDC) superconducting power cables that are setting apart the newest generation of data centers. Examples such as the first planned application of LVDC cables in a data center, engineering and installing a CCHP plant in an urban environment, and using virtualization to determine and test a facility’s energy efficiency in its initial development phase will drive the discussion.
