The Modular Data Center: A New Path to Efficiency

In the data center industry there are multiple versions of modular facilities as well as many customers having their sites custom built for them. These are highly inefficient modes of construction from the standpoint of cost, delivery and waste. In this presentation Brent Behrman of Compass Datacenters will present why a non-variable, standards-based design is the most efficient mode of data center development. His examination will include identifying the four main attributes of modular data centers, the effectiveness of matching capacity to demand, the value of repeatable operations and their impact on the industrial learning curve. The presentation will conclude with a discussion as to why changes to standard designs are inefficient and wasteful.
