Tod Sword is Southern California Edison’s (SCE) Economic Development Services Consultant covering Orange County, South Bay, and Gateway Cities of Los Angeles County. Tod joined SCE in November 2004. Tod specializes in attracting, retaining and growing businesses in SCE’s territory by helping companies access economic development incentives and resources to remain competitive in the global economy. In 2012, Tod established the SCE Data Center Task Force to grow data center customers in SCE territory, resulting in five 20MW Colocation facilities opening in Southern California. In 2009, Tod led a twenty-member Regional Economic Development (RED) Team which successfully retained a large technology company in Orange County by identifying over $5M in savings via water, electric, and workforce training incentives saving over 800 jobs from relocating overseas. Tod began his career in economic development with the United States Peace Corps as a volunteer for the business development program. Tod also served as Sr. Business Assistance Manager at the LAEDC for seven years prior to joining SCE. Tod received his Master’s Degree of Business Administration from the University of Kentucky with a concentration in Marketing, Finance and International Business. He also received his Bachelors of Science degree in Economics from the University of California, Irvine.
